OpenScape is a digital platform for the promotion of artistic and curatorial exchanges.

It aims to create new encounters and interactions that are ecologically sustainable and more inclusive for practitioners outside of the main production centres, with limited border-crossing possibilities or resources.

Organised and presented by partners across five continents, this online meeting point aims to help practitioners reconnect globally through a series of curated discursive events and a permanent and decentralised online platform.

Events

OpenScape proposes regular online events for artists, curators, presenters, producers and funders to gather and interact, tackle emerging topics, follow up on conversations and maybe initiate collaborations.

These events are also meant to create the conditions for informal exchanges between practitioners, reactivating old friendships and prompting new encounters.

Partners

OpenScape is an initiative of Reso – Swiss Dance Network (CH) and Materialise (CH/HK) realised in partnership with GreenRoom (CL/DE/ES), iPanda (CN), The Khan (LB), Mwenya Kabwe (ZA), NAVE (CL), Nika Parkhomovskaia (RU/FR), Sandbox Collective (IN), and Tanzhaus Zürich (CH).

OpenScape is supported by the Transformation Fund of Canton Zurich (CH) and Pro Helvetia – The Swiss Arts Council (CH).

Community

OpenScape also setup a Discord server as a permanent place for the community to assemble itself organically, bring up new topics, offer reciprocal mentorship, and communicate projects and opportunities.

This digital space, like all the OpenScape events, is freely accessible. In essence decentralised, this server can develop itself in multiple languages, following the needs of the community and showcasing the conversations of its participants.
